HS Girls Water Polo: Vista Murrieta Captures Second Place in the Los Altos Girls Water Polo Tournament


The Broncos are 6-2 and Ranked 11th in the CIF SS Division 2 Preseason Polls

Vista Murrieta suffered it’s first loss of the 2016-17 season as the Broncos were edged 9-8 by Bonita in the Los Altos Girls Water Polo Tournament Championship game. The Broncos put up a valiant fight, coming back from a 6-1 deficit at the half to almost win it all.

Senior Amira Van Buren, an Arizona State University commit led the Broncos with 5 goals in the loss. Seniors Isabel Rack, Keale Sauer and Katy Peterson all scored a goal apiece for the Broncos.

The Broncos find themselves ranked above cross town rival Murrieta Valley in the CIF SS Preseason Polls. Vista Murrieta fans are hoping that this will be the year of the Bronco in the Southwestern League.

Key players for Vista Murrieta are seniors Amira Van Buren, Isabel Rack, Katy Peterson, goalie Jacelyn Geddes, Myranda Galley and junior Haley Daarstad. The Broncos are 6-2 so far under Coach Shane Anderson this year and will face St. Lucy’s at home this Tuesday.
