HS Girls Water Polo: Vista Murrieta & Murrieta Mesa Win Both Opening Matches in the 2017 Five Counties Tournament



The Broncos Cruise Past Roosevelt & Elsinore while the Rams Stomp King & JW North

The Broncos bounced back from Wednesday’s defeat to Murrieta Valley and dominated the pool in their first two matches of the 2017 Five Counties Tournament. The Rams also crushed both of their opening day games.

Vista Murrieta blew past Eleanor Roosevelt 13-2 in the opening game. Katy Peterson led the Broncos with 4 goals and a assists. Isabel Rack scored twice

and had 8 steals in the game. Amira Van Buren also scored 2 goals, had four assists and 2 steals. Keale Sauer put the ball in the net twice as Myranda Galley and Hannah Steffens each scored a goal. Jacelyn Geddes had 7 saves in the opener.

The Broncos sank Elsinore in their second game 19-6. Rack led Vista Murrieta’s attack with 7 goals. Peterson scored 4,Van Buren 3 and Daarstad 2. Galley, Steffens and Sauer each scored a goal against the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa was dominant in their 2 games. The Rams beat the JV team from King 11-1 in their opening match. They easily beat, JW North in the second game 11-4. Kate Fox and Ashley Lybbert led with goals for both games.
