HS Girls Water Polo: Vista Murrieta Thrashes Great Oak 17-6

The Southwestern League Girls Water Polo Carousel begins Tomorrow to Determine this Year’s Champion

Vista Murrieta easily beat Great Oak 17-6 in Monday night’s only Southwestern League Water Polo contest. The victory put the Broncos solidly behind Murrieta Valley in second place.

The Championship of will be determined by the results of the Girls Water Polo Carousel tournament which begins tomorrow.

Isabella Rack (pictured above), led the Broncos with 9 goals, 5 steals and had 4 assists against the Wolfpack. Katy Peterson added four goals and 4 assists. Amira Van Buren put two into the net, had 5 assists and stole the ball 4 times. Haley Daarstad and Keale Sauer each scored a goal against the Pumas. Hannah Steffans had a block and Jacelyn Geddes was exceptional in the net for the Broncos.

The first round of the Southwestern League Girls Water Polo Carousel begins tomorrow, January 26th in the Murrieta Valley pool. Vista Murrieta will face off against Temecula Valley at 4pm. Number One seeded Murrieta Valley will play Great Oak in the 5pm game. Chaparral and Murrieta Mesa have Byes.

The Second Round is on Tuesday, January 31st at Vista Murrieta.  Murrieta Valley will play Chaparral and then Vista Murrieta and Murrieta Mesa next.

 Round 3 is scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd at Murrieta Mesa. Chaparral plays Great Oak and then Murrieta Mesa takes on Temecula Valley.

The Tournament Finals will be played at Visa Murrieta on Thursday, February 9th.
