HS Golf: Great Oak Gets Soaked but Beats Temecula Valley in the Rain 208-263

The Wolfpack & Golden Bears Braved the Rain in their Southwestern League Match

14407554_10208947818084527_233533740_nJunior Ellen Choi led the Wolfpack past the Golden Bears in the rain Tuesday at Temecula Creek Inn. Both teams had very little or no experience  playing in the rain and the challenges it presented as Great Oak beat Temecula Valley  208-26314429167_10208947817844521_783911353_n

“The girls were questioning if we were going to play at first, but then realized they don’t get the opportunity to “play” in the rain very often” said Great Oak Coach Rachel Reif . “And though challenging, it was fun!. They liked the fact that all other sports were cancelled except girl’s golf and water polo. ” It was fun to watch all the girls on both teams step up and play in the rain”.

.Choi’s score of 36 led the Pack, followed by Hannah Coutts (Sr) who shot a 40, Steffi Ahn (Jr)  41, Shannon Martin (Fr)- 45 and Kaili Higgins (Fr) 46.

14409241_10208947817924523_508424257_nThe Golden Bears  scores were  Jordan Parr 41, Lucy Leveilli  53,   Mariah Gonzalas- 54,  Mia frame- 54 and Hailey Bonay-61.

“I am excited about the play of our entire team. “Ellen Choi has been our most consistent golfer this year as a junior” added Reif.  “We are young,, but the leadership of our upperclassmen, has really given our talented freshman direction”.
