On a dark, cold and rainy night, the Temecula Valley Girls Lacrosse team squeaked one past Great Oak giving the Wolfpack a heart breaking loss As has been the standard so far this season, when the girls varsity lacrosse teams hit the field…so did the water works.

This has been the third game that has been played in the rain. Despite the hazardous playing conditions, the Golden Bears were able to pull off the victory over the Wolfpack in the waning minutes of the game, winning it with a final score of 14-13.

The Wolfpack offense was led by senior captain Sydney Simpson with 7 goals. She was closely followed by the Golden Bears senior Jade West with 6 goals of her own. Between the rain, cold temperatures and gusty winds, conditions for both teams turned out to be very challenging.

Numerous fouls and turnovers resulted as players from both teams had to deal with wet lacrosse sticks and slippery wet balls, not to mention the wet field conditions. The officials were hard pressed to keep up with the action n the field.

The Lady Golden Bears finally pulled ahead in the final two minutes of the game. This victory ties up the season rivalry at one game a piece.

The third and final game of the series will be played at Temecula Valley High School on April 15. It promises to be an exciting event…a tie breaker game of this hotly contested rivalry.

The last two meetings between these teams, was decided by one goal. Get your popcorn ready, it will be a real barn burner.
