HS Softball: Great Oak Beats Temecula Valley 10-0, Chaparral Tops Murrieta Valley and Vista Murrieta Beats Mesa


The Wolfpack Shows Why they are Ranked 10th in the Nation…Explodes for 6 Runs in the 4th Inning to Put the Game Away

Great Oak exploded for 6 runs in the fourth inning on their way to defeating Temecula Valley10-0 in Friday’s Southwestern league game. The Wolfpack is ranked second in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Polls, sixth in the State and 10th in the Nation.

The victory put the Wolfpack solidly in first place in the Southwestern league. Great Oak is undefeated with a 6-0 record in league play. They are 9-1-1 overall and on a 6 game winning streak. They are scheduled to play Murrieta Mesa next.

The Wolfpack scored when Candace Yingling and Abby Trimble came across the plate in the second. Sara Kinch would score in the third inning and then the Wolfack offense exploded for in the fourth.

Kayla Edwards, Quincee Lilio, Serena Slavey, Brandy Kinch, Ramsey Suarez and Trimble scored in that huge 4th inning. Trimble scored her third run of the game in the next inning.

Bella Mejia threw a shutout and was the winning pitcher for Great Oak.

In other Southwestern league action, Vista Murrieta got home runs from Alesia Denby, Samantha Ganaden and Zoe Karam to defeat Murrieta Mesa 6-2. Pitcher Briza Blanco got the win and Lexie Powell the save.

Chaparral feasted on Murrieta Valley pitching and powered past the Nighthawks 13-9. Alyssa Wenzel drove in 5 runs for the Pumas and Jaelynn Lambert went deep for Chaparral. Ryann Steine knocked in 4 runs for the Nighthawks. Sierra Ruvalcaba was the winning pitcher for the Pumas.
