HS Softball: Great Oak’s Huge 5 Run Fourth Inning Dooms Vista Murrieta

In other Southwestern League Action, Murrieta Mesa Shuts Out Murrieta Valley 3-0

Great Oak scored five runs in the fourth inning and held on to that lead as the Wolfpack beat Vista Murrieta Wednesday 6-5. It was the two teams first match-up of the season and allowed Great Oak to secure first place in the Southwestern league standings.

Mata Faapito, Sara Kinch, Candace Yingling, Abby Trimble and Brandy Kinch all scored in the fourth for the Wolfpack. Faapito scored the eventual winning run in the fifth for Great Oak. Bella Mejia was the winning pitcher for the Wolfpack.

Alesia Denby and Samantha Ganaden each scored twice for Vista Murrieta. Abby Nowak also scored in the fourth inning. Broncos ace Briza Blancotook the loss.

In other Southwestern league action, the Rams Lacie Ham pitched a complete game 7 hit shutout to beat Murrieta Valley 3-0. Kelci Hill scored twice while Presligh Pilon and Kalyn Hill each drove in a run. The Nighthawks Jennelle Muñoz took the loss for Murrieta Valley.
