HS Softball: Murrieta Mesa Beats Temecula Valley 6-3 Thursday

Freshman Pitcher Lacie Ham Tames the Golden Bears

Murrieta Mesa won Thursday’s Southwestern league game against Temecula Valley 6-3. Lacie Ham was the winning pitcher for the Rams. The freshman threw all seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits. She struck out five Golden Bears on the way to her fourth win of the season.

The Rams scored a run jn the first inning and another in the second to go up 2-0. Murrieta exploded for 4 more in the fifth to put the game away. Temecula would score a run in the fourth and 2 more in the seventh, but Ham settled down and walked away with the win.

Seniors Breena Anderson, Autumn Pease, junior Jada Cody sophomore Presligh Pilon and freshman Bella Flexen each drove a run in for the Rams. Anderson hit 2 doubles.

Freshman Maisyn Cadena came around to score twice for Murrrieta. Flaxen stole two bases while junior Kelci Hill and Anderson swiped one each.

Shanynn Bustamante took the loss for Temecula Valley. She allowed nine hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out six.

In other Southwestern League action, Murrieta Valley edged Vista Murrieta 2-1. Great Oak crushed Chaparral 12-2 in a game that was stopped after 5 innings.

Murrieta Mesa will face Southwesten league rival Vista Murrieta next Tuesday. The Golden Bears will go up against Great Oak.
