HS Softball: Murrieta Mesa Shuts Out Fullerton 3-0 to Advance to the CIF SS Division 3 Championship Finals

Autumn Pease Throws Another Shut Out as the Rams Defeat the Indians to Face Hart HS in the Final

Murrieta Mesa keeps making school history as the Rams defeated Fullerton to advance to the 2017 CIF Southern Section Division 3 Championship Softball Playoffs. The Rams were led by junior fireballer Autumn Pease didn’t allow a single run on her way to her 21st victory of the season.

Pease pitched all seven innings and allowed just six hits and struck out 14 and didn’t give up a walk. She was named player of the game by Rams coach Antonio Romero and has only given up one run in four playoff appearances.

Alexia Silvas suffered the loss for Fullerton. She threw five innings, allowing three runs, six hits, struck out five. Kloee Scott also pitched 2 scoreless innings for the Indians.

The Rams scored all 3 of their runs in the fourth inning. Alina Hernandez, Lauren Randle and Breeana Anderson scored as a clutch hit by Karina Romero brought home 2 and Autumn Pease helped her own efforts by driving in another.

Kelci Hill stayed red hot in the playoffs for Murrieta Mesa and hit 2 doubles for the Rams. Anderson also had 2 of the Rams 7 hits. Senior Amanda Pacillas went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Fullerton.

The victory sets up the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Championship game. The Rams started the tournament with a 11-0 win over Temescal Canyon then defeated Mayfair 8-0 before downing Knight 14-1.

The Rams advance to take on Hart High School in the Final game of the season. The Indians are from Newhall and boast a record of 20-12. They edged Ayala 6-5 in their semifinal game yesterday.
