HS Softball: Santa Rosa Academy’s 3 Run Rally in the Last Inning Wins It

The Rangers Advance to the CIF SS Championship Playoffs

Santa Rosa Academy nudged past Archer School for Girls with a dramatic three run rally in the last inning to win 6-5 on Tuesday afternoon. The Victory propels the Rangers into the quarterfinal round of the CIF Southern Section Championship Playoffs.

The Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning. The Panthers came back with a run in the fourth and four more in the fifth to take a 5-3 lead. The Rangers came to bat in seventh and last inning and erupted for 3 more runs to win the game.

Skyler Belleville and Destiny Granados each scored twice in the victory. It was Meghan Drake and Megan Harris who scored the other two runs. Granados drove in two and Rachel Earlywine, Victoria Gonzalez, Belleville and Harris each had an RBI.

Skyler Belleville went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a triple. Earlywine also had 3 hits for the Rangers.

Junior Kylie Tahan was the winning pitcher for Santa Rosa Academy, She threw all seven innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits. Tahan would strike out 7 Panthers en route to the come from behind victory.

Santa Rosa Academy advances to the Quarterfinal round of the CIF SS Division 7 Playoffs. The Rangers will face off with Grace Brethren of Simi Valley. The Lancers are undefeated with a perfect 15-0 record.
