HS Softball: Vista Murrieta Beats Chino Hills 7-0 in Round 1 of the 2017 CIF SS Championship Playoffs

Shealyn Ollison Shuts Out the Huskies and Advance to Face Norco

Vista Murrieta shut out Chino Hills 7-0 in the opening round og the 2017 CIF Southern Section Softball Championship Playoffs Thursday afternoon. Shealyn Ollison was nearly perfect in the pitchers circle, throwing a four hitter as she kept Chino Hlls guessing all game.

The girls were relaxed, they had two good days of practice going into yesterday’s game and their work paid off’ said Kathryn Terrazas, the Bronco Head Coach. “Our defense was strong and offensively we were seeing the ball very well and getting the hits we needed at the right time. Shea pitched a great game and trusted her defense to work behind her, and they really stepped up. It was a good game all around”

Vista Murrieta’s Makayla Jordan lead the Broncos with her bat. She was a one woman destruction crew with a hone run.2 hits and three runs batted in. Anna Vines, Karissa Ornelas, Alesia Denby and Jocelynn De la Cruz also knocked in a run each for the Broncos. Catcher Sara Lillie called a great game while going 2 for 3 at the plate.

The Broncos will face the Number One team in the CIF Southern Section next. Norco is not only ranked first in Southern California, but experts say that they are the best team in the nation. The Broncos are now 18-6 overall.
