HS Tennis: Murrieta Valley Defeats Riverside Poly 13-5


The Nighthawks Remain Undefeated with a Record of 7-0

The Murrieta Valley Girls Tennis team faced one of their toughest opponents of the season thus far as they faced Riverside Poly. Monday afternoon. The Nighthawks rose to the occasion in their biggest match to date, as they beat the Bears 13-5.

Faith Pearson and Natalie Duffy both swept the singles for Murrieta Valley.  The Nighthawks doubles team of Kelsey Lajom and Alana Andrews won in a three set tie breaker over Poly’s Maxelle Bernie and Torrey Mateljan, who suffered their first loss of the season.

Both teams were undefeated going into the match and they both made it to the CIF Southern Section Playoff Finals last year. MVHS was moved from Division 2 to Division 1 this season and Poly is now in Division 2.
