14 Local Teams Get Ready as Play Begins on Tuesday, October 301…Halloween
All six Southwestern league teams are in the 2017 CIF Southern Section Girls Volleyball Championship Playoffs. A total of 14 local teams will compete in the opening round to begin on Tuesday, October 31
Four Teams from the Sunbelt league will be represented, three from the South Valley league and one from the Arrowhead league.
Southwestern league Champion Temecula Valley has a bye in the opening round. The Golden Bears will face the victors of the Harvard-Westlake and Ventura game.
Vista Murrieta will face Rancho Cucamonga and Great Oak will battle Edison. Murrieta Valley goes against Huntington Beach and Chaparral’s first Division 1 playoff opponent will be Lakewood.
In Division 3 two local teams will face one another. Elsinore has won the Sunbelt Title five consecutive years and have won 19 league titles. The Tigers will face a group of very optimistic Rams from Murrieta Mesa.
Two more Sunbelt teams are playing in Division 6. Paloma Valley faces La Sierra and Temescal Canyon takes on Beaumont in round 1. In Division 7, Perris will play Duarte.
Division 9 will see three South Valley teams in action. Calvary Murrieta faces Sacred Heart of Jesus, Santa Rosa Academy will host California Lutheran from Wildomar and Rancho Christian plays Holy Martyrs.
