HS Volleyball: Chaparral Swept by Vista Murrieta 25-21,26-24, 25-13

The Broncos Face Off Thursday for First Place Against Temecula Valley in the Southwestern League

Vista Murrieta defeated Chaparral in a hotly contested 25-21,26-24, 25-13 three set match Tuesday. The victory improves the Broncos to 7-1 in league play and locked in a battle for first place in the hotly contested Southwestern league standings with arch rival Temecula Valley.

Tiffany Pedersen-Henry

Vista Murrieta’s Tiffany Pedersen-Henry led the Bronco attack. The junior had 17 kills and 14 digs against Chaparral. Senior Lexi Hadrych chimed in another 15 kills and junior Jayde Harris had 5 aces.

Defensively. Ellyn Brown had 3 big blocks against the Pumas. Paige Johnstone came up with 9 digs while Marlee Nunley had 30 assists for the evening.

Chaparral’s Kaili Downs was the Puma offensive leader with 1 kills. She also had 3 blocks and 15 Digs. Silvia Ianeselli had 8 kills while Delaney Sluis added 7 more. Julia Haynie blocked 4 shots and Hailey Carter had 23 assists.

Vista Murrieta will have a showdown with Temecula Valley this Thursday. The Broncos are tied with the Golden Bears with and beat Temecula in their last meeting. They are looking to replace the defending Champions.

Chaparral is 2-6 in league play. The Pumas will be travel to Murrieta Mesa to home to face the Rams.
