HS Volleyball: Chaparral Wins the Dan Quam Tournament in Hemet Saturday


 

The Pumas Dominate the Field…Not Losing a Set all Tournament

Chaparral went undefeated at the Dan Quam tournament at Hemet High School on Saturday. In facet, the Pumas dominated the field and cruised through the tournament. They did not lose a set all day.

The Pumsa beat Linfield Christian in the semifinals to set up the decisive match with Xavier Prep. Chaparral went on to defeat the Saints in the best of two tournament 25-16, 25-16 in the Championship finals. Xavier Prep falls to 7-3 this season.

The Pumas were led by senior Kaili Downs had 14 kills and 15 digs and senior setter Hailey Carter had 16 assists.

Chaparral’s Kaili Downs was named the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Senior Kenzie Guimont and Hailey Carter the made all Tournament Team.

 

“Our team is gaining momentum and our consistent performance throughout the day shows good veteran leadership from Kaili Downs and Kenzie Guimont and Hailey Carter” said Chaparral Coach Dana Burkholder.

The Pumas are next scheduled  for a home, non-conference match  against Hemet on Thursday, September 14 at 4:30pm. The Bulldogs are currently 2-2.
