Nine Local teams were Victorious in the Opening Round & Advance to Round 2
In Division 1, Temecula Valley who finished second in Southwestern league play beat Rancho Cucamonga 3-0. The Golden Bears are 18-9 this season and will play Sierra Canyon on Wednesday.
In other Division 1 playoff action, Mater Dei beat Great Oak in round one 3-0. The Wolfpack ended the 2018 season at 22-9. South Western league Champion Vista Murrieta fell to San Juan Hills 3-1. The Broncos were 26-7.
Murrieta Mesa lost to Laguna Beach in the opening round of the Division 3 playoffs. The Rams finished the season at 13-11 overall.
Elsinore advances to round two in the Division 4 playoffs after slipping past Sonora 3-2. The Tigers are 23-6 overall and will see action against Xavier Prep Saturday.
In Division 6 Heritage advances to round 2 with a 3-0 sweep over Whitney at home. The Patriots are 23-5 overall and will face Century on Saturday.
In Division 7, top seeded Linfield Christian swept Banning 3-0 to get things started in the playoffs. The Lions finished second in the Ambassador League and are now 25-4. They will play Bassett High School next.
Rancho Christian overpowered Desert Mirage in the opening round of the Division 8 playoffs. The Eagles were the undefeated South Valley League Champions and are currently 24-7.
Calvary Murrieta also won their home playoff opener against Big Bear easily in Division 8. The Warriors finished second in the South Valley and have a record of 17-5. They head to round 2 Saturday against Trinity Classic.
A third Division 8 team, Santa Rosa Academy lost a tough 5 set match to Webb and was eliminated from the playoffs. The Rangers beat Bishop Conaty-Loretto in the CIF Wildcard match on Tuesday and ended the season 13-13.
In Division 9 Redlands Adventist Academy lost to Nuview Bridge. The Knights are 18-10 and will be home to play New Roads in Round 2 of the CIF Southern Section Playoffs.
