Great Oak took the next highly contested set 25-23 and then won the third 26-24. The Wolfpack won the final set 25-21and went 1-0 in league play.
“Maddie Wendel and Katrina Jensen had big games for us” said Great Oak Coach Mark Motluck. “Katrina went 6 for 6 on kills in the second game and was our was our highest kill percentage player of the match. Summer Ellis, our right side, also had a pretty big game hitting. The team was lead in assists by Grace Talpash and digs by Madi Allen and Baily Morgan”.
“ It was just a great match overall by both teams. I think the only real difference was who finished the last 5 points of each game better…otherwise it was a pretty even match” added Coach Motluck. “Setters controlled the game, blocking was huge for us while serving was strong for them. Great match to be a part of. We play them Monday again at our place”
Temecula Valley was led by setter Jordyn Amoy. The senior had 45 assists, 4 blocks and 11 digs in the match. Hailey Hinkel and Carly Shreenan had 13 kills apiece for the Golden Bears. Shreenan also had 13 digs.
