HS Volleyball: Murrieta Mesa Beats Chaparral in 4 Sets 25-21, 25-13, 18-25, 25-14

Kali Uhl Led the Ram Attack with 20 Kills and 13 Digs

Murrieta Mesa beat Chaparral in four sets 25-21, 25-13, 18-25, 25-14 on Monday. The Rams broke a 6 league game loosing streak with the victory. Both teams are struggling this season in the very tough and competitive Southwestern league. Four teams from the league are ranked in the top 20 in the last CIF Southern Section Division 1 & 2 Polls.

Senior Kali Uhl led the Ram attack with 20 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Delaney Kiendra added 9 kills and had 7 big blocks. Senior Tommie Syverson ended the game with 9 kills.

Setter Kalia Thunstrom had 35 assists and 15 digs. The sophomore also had 3 service aces. Senior captain Kiara Schmidt led the Rams with 23 digs.

Senior Morgan Johnson led the Pumas with 17 kills. Senior Julia Haynie added 7 and sophomore Anna Johnson 6 kills.

Senior Elizabeth Johnson had 5 blocked shots for Chaparral. Senior Vianna Allen had 23 digs and junior Maxeene Quiambao had 20.

Freshman setter Saige Rivera had 36 assists and 12 digs against the Rams.

In other Southwestern league action, Vista Murrieta beat Temecula Valley 3-1.
