HS Volleyball: Rancho Christian Falls to Santa Clarita Christian in the Quarterfinals of the 2017 CIF SS Championship Playoffs

The Eagles Battles to a Tough 4 set Loss 27-25,17-25,25-17,25-16

Rancho Christian’s Volleyball season came to an end Saturday evening as the Eagles lost to Santa Clarita Christian in 4 sets. The Eagles were facing off with the Cardinals in the Quarterfinals of the 2017 CIF Southern Section Championship Playoffs.

After dropping the tough opening set 27-25, the Eagles battled back to win the next,17-25. They then lost the final 2 by scores of 25-17,25-16 and were eliminated from the tournament.

This season has been a memorable one. These girls have given their heart and soul to the game” said Rancho Christian Coach Rochelle Short. “Their passion for the sport and each other is unmatched…none of us wanted this season to ever end”.

Emma Baker led the Eagles with 12 kills. The senior captain also came up with 16 digs. Emily Vaniman and both had 6 kills for Rancho. Randi Pico added 5 more kills and led the team with 3 blocks.

Savannah Page came up with 2 more blocks against the Cardinals. Izzy Lopez had 9 digs, Brooklynn Thomas 8 digs and Olivia Trevithick had 28 assists.

We thank God for all of our blessings and look forward to being able to do it again next year” added Coach Short. “Santa Clarita Christian is a great team and we wish them best of luck in the rest of post season”.
