The Season Ends for Temecula Valley, Heritage & Nuview Bridge Wednesday Night in the Quarterfinals
The CIF Southern Section Girls Volleyball Championship Playoff Quarterfinals were played Wednesday night and 3 local High Schools teams won to advance the the 2018 Semifinals. The season also ended for 3 other very talented teams.
In Division 5, Sunbelt league Champion Paloma Valley cruised to a 3 set sweep of Aquinas. The Wildcats took the match 25-20. 25-23, 25-16 and will face Viewpoint High School in the Semifinals. The Patriots are 23-13 and beat Vistamar yesterday.
Rancho Christian traveled to Valencia and beat Trinity Classic in 4 sets in their quarterfinal match. The Eagles lost the first set 23-25 but came on strong to take the next three 25-13,25-22,25-20. Rancho Christian will face Villanova Prep Saturday as the CIF SS Playoffs continue. The Wildcats are 11-3.
In Division 7, Linfield Christian rolled past Cate in a tough 5 set match to keep their playoff dreams alive. The top seeded Lions won 25-23, 13-25, 22-25, 25-17,15-12 and will play Ocean View in the Semifinal match. The Seahawks are 23-3 and the Golden West league Champions.
Temecula Valley was eliminated by Sierra Canyon in 3 sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20 in Division 1 action. The Golden Bears were 19-7.
Heritage fell to the Archer School in the most highly contested 5 set match in the quarterfinal round. The Patriots fought hard but lost to the Panthers 25-20,25-22, 26-24, 20-25 and 20-18 in the tie breaker. Heritage finished the season 24-6.
In Division 9, Nuview Bridge were defeated in straight sets by Holy Martyrs, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20. The Knights were 19-11 in 2018.
