The Tournament was Held at Cal Lutheran in Wildomar
The Rancho Christian Girls Volleyball team got off to a great start this season on Saturday. The Eagles traveled to Wildomar and won the “Dive Into the Season Tournament”, held at Cal Lutheran. All games were best 2 out of 3.
The Eagles went undefeated, knocking off Hesperia Christian, River Springs, and Oakwood Secondary before meeting Santa Rosa Academy in the Championship game. In the final, Rancho Christian swept the Rangers 25-18 and 25-23
Emma Baker led the Eagles with 7 kills, 2 aces and 6 digs in the final game. Emily Vaniman also had 7 kills , 2 aces and 3 digs. Amirah Ali added another 6 kills while Brooklynn Thomas came up with 8 digs. Olivia Trevithick had 25 assists and 4 aces against the Ranger
“Each of these 9 girls gave everything they had and their hearts to competition today” said Rancho Christian head coach Rochelle Short. “It was a special event to witness the epitome of teamwork displayed from each of them in their respective positions. Emily Vaniman received a well deserved, All Tournament selection for her performance. I am so proud of these girls and can’t wait to see them grow as individuals and together as a team this season”.
Rancho Christian will be back on the court Tuesday to face Castle Park at home, The Trojans from Chula Vista have a record of 1-3.
