HS Volleyball: Seven Local Schools Make this Week’s CIF Southern Section Divisional Polls


Rancho Christian, Cornerstone Christian, Paloma Valley, Elsinore, Temecula Prep, Linfield Christian & Temecula Valley Ranked Tops in their Divisions

This week’s CIF Southern Section Divisional Volleyball polls has been released and six local High Schools have been ranked at the top spots in their respective Divisions.

Rancho Christian, Cornerstone Christian, Paloma Valley, Elsinore, Temecula Prep , Linfield Christian and Temecula Valley are those selected few.

Cornerstone Christian remains the most feared team in Division 9. The Number One ranked Crusaders are 14-1 after defeating Newport Christian in straight sets. Cornerstone are in Twin Peaks today to face Arrowhead Christian.

Also ranked fifth in Division 9 is Temecula Prep. The Patriots are 11-8 and are coming off a three set victory over Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School. Temecula will be in Perris for a league game against California Military Institute today.

Rancho Christian continues to dominate Division 7 and is ranked Number One in the Division. The Eagles are 12-6 this season and are coming off a tough loss to Division 4 Xavier Prep. Rancho Christian hosts Nuview Bridge tonight.

In Division 3, Paloma Valley was ranked fourth once again this week. The Wildcats were the Sunbelt league co-champions last year and are off to an impressive 12-2 start this season. Paloma Valley swept Murrieta Mesa in 3 last week and will face Valley View tomorrow.

Elsinore dropped from the Number Four spot in Division 5 all the way to twelfth. The talented Tigers are 9-3 overall after slipping past Orange Vista. Elsinore beat rival Temescal Canyon in four sets last week and are home to tackle Riverside Poly Wednesday .

In Division 1-2, Temecula Valley slipped in the CIF Polls from Number 6 to 13. The Golden Bears are 10-6 overall and playing exceptional volleyball. Temecula lost to Vista Murrieta on Wednesday and came back to beat Great Oak in two very tough matches. The Bears continue with Southwestern league play and will hst Murrieta Valley today.

In Division 6, Linfield Christian has fought back to the eleventh spot. The Lions are now 11-2 overall and 3-1 in league. The Lions suit up against Loma Linda Academy tonight.
