HS Volleyball: Six Local Schools Make this Week’s Top Ten CIF Southern Section Divisional Polls

Rancho Christian, Cornerstone Christian, Paloma Valley, Elsinore, Temecula Prep & Temecula Valley Ranked in the Top Ten of their  Divisions

This week’s CIF Southern Section Divisional Volleyball polls has been released and six local High Schools have been ranked in the top ten in their respective Divisions.

Rancho Christian, Cornerstone Christian, Paloma Valley, Elsinore, Temecula Prep and Temecula Valley are those selected few.

Cornerstone Christian remains Tops in Division 9. The Number One ranked Crusaders suffered their fist loss of the season to top ranked Rancho Christian in straight sets last week. Corerstone is 12-1 after rebounding to crush Bethal Christian last Thursday.

Also ranked fifth in Division 9 is Temecula Prep. The Patriots are 10-8 overall and 3-0 in the South Valley league. Temecula is coming off an impressive victory over San Gorgonio. They play Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Thursday.

Rancho Christian Eagles

Rancho Christian continues to be ranked Number One in Division 7. The Eagles are 11-4 this season and are coming off a tough loss to Division 4 La Habra. Rancho Christian travels to Escondido to play Orange Glen today.

In Division 3, Paloma Valley was ranked fourth once again this week. The Wildcats were the Sunbelt league co-champions last year and are off to an impressive 11-2 start this season. Paloma Valley plays Murrieta Mesa today.

Elsinore improved from the sixth spot to Number Four in Division 5. The talented Tigers are 7-3 overall after slipping past Orange Vista. Elsinore will play rival Temescal Canyon today.

In Division 1 and 2, Temecula Valley pops into the CIF Polls at Number 6. The Golden Bears are 9-5 overall and playing exceptional volleyball. Temecula starts the Southwestern league season against Vista Murrieta Wednesday.

Chaparral Pumas

Chaparral is ranked 16th in the combined Divisions. The Pumas were undefeated until they ran into some stiff competition at the Dave Mohs Tournament in Huntington Beach. Chaparral is now 20-3 and will travel to Corona to play Santiago today.

In Division 6 Linfield Christian was ranked ninth but now find themselves out of the top 10 in the 16th spot. The Lions are 9-2 overall and 1-1 in league. The Lions suit up against Arrrowhead Christian tonight.
