Temecula Valley, Paloma Valley, Heritage, Linfield Christian, Rancho Christian & Nuview Bridge all see action this Wednesday
The 2018 CIF Southern Section Girls Volleyball Playoffs have reached the Quarterfinal round and six local teams have made the cut. Temecula Valley, Paloma Valley, Heritage, Linfield Christian, Rancho Christian & Nuview Bridge all will compete this Wednesday to see if they can advance to the Semifinals on Saturday.
In Division 1, Temecula Valley will be home to face Sierra Canyon. The Golden Bears finished second in the Southwestern league and are 19-6. Temecula swept Rancho Cucamonga 3-0 in Round 1 of the Playoffs. The Trailblazers beat Harvard Westlake.
Paloma Valley is in the Division 5 quarterfinals. The Wildcats tied with Heritage for the Sunbelt Championship and are 24-6. Paloma Valley defeated Tustin in round 1 and Diamond Ranch in the second round and will face Aquinas next. The Falcons are 22-6.
Top seeded Linfield Christian will be home for the Division 7 quarterfinals against Cate. The Lions finished second in the Ambassador league and are 26-4. They have swept both Banning and Bassett in the opening rounds. The Rams are 14-4.
In Division 8 Rancho Christian faces off against Trinity Classic. The Eagles are 26-7 and won the South Valley Championship this year. The Eagles have been dominate against Desert Mirage and Bolsa Grande in the first 2 rounds. The Knights are 17-9-1.
Nuview Bridge will face Holy Martyrs in the Division 9 quarterfinals. The Knights finished fourth in the South Valley league and have a 19-10 record. Nuview has not lost a set to either Sequoyah or New Roads high schools in the their way to the CIF Southern Section quarterfinals.
