HS Volleyball: Temecula Valley, Paloma Valley & Linfield Christian Advance in the CIF State Championship Tournament

Rancho Christian’s Season Comes to an End as the Eagles Fall to Mira Monte

The Second round of the 2018 CIF State Championship Tournament continues Thursday, and three local High School teams have advanced in their Divisional brackets.

In Division 1, Temecula Valley beat Canyon Crest Academy in straight sets, 25-13,25-23,25-20. The Golden Bears are 20-7 this season and will face Notre Dame at home Thursday.

The Knights are from Sherman Oaks and tied for second place in the Mission League with a 23-9 overall record this year. They beat San Clemente 3-2 yesterday to advance to round 2.

Paloma Valley beat Grace Brethren in their Division 3 opening match. The Wildcats won a ferocious 25-22,25-23,17-25,25-20 contest. They are up against Manrantha Christian Thursday.

The Eagles are 36-4 and are the undefeated Pacific League Champions this season. They swept Viewpoint 3-0 in thir opener.

Linfield Christian faces San Dimas in round 2 action in Divison 4. The Lions Beat Eagle Rock in the opening round. Linfield took the match 3 sets to one for their 30th victory against 4 losses his season.

The Saints went 10-0 in league play and are the Valle Vista league Champions. San Dimas is 24-7 and got to round 2 by battling Cleveland HS in a 5 set match.

The season came to an end for Rancho Christian Tuesday. The Eagles lost to Mira Monte in 4 sets, 23-25.25-22,25-17,25-16 in the first round of the Divison 4 playoffs. Rancho Christian was the 2018 South Eastern league Champion and finished the season with a 28-9 record.
