HS Volleyball: Temecula Valley, Paloma Valley Stay Red Hot…Advance to the CIF State Championship Regional Semi Finals

Linfield Christian Eliminated from the Tournament as the Lions Fall to San Dimas

Temecula Valley and Paloma Valley stayed red hot Thursday as both Girls Volleyball teams won in round 2 action. The Golden Bears and Wildcats will advance to the Regional Semi Finals on Saturday.

Temecula Valley beat Notre Dame in 3 sets in Division 1 action last night. The Golden Bears coasted to a 25-17, 25-19 and 25-17 victory over the Knights. Temecula improves to 21-7 this season and will face Bishop in Saturday’s Regional Semi Final match.

Bishop is 25-10 and placed second in the Coastal league. The Knights swept La Costa Canyon 25-9, 29-27, 25-23 in last night’s second round match.

It took Paloma Valley 5 sets to come from behind and defeat fourth seeded Maranatha Christian in Division 3 last night. The Wildcats lost the first two sets and came roaring back to win 3 straight 22-25,22-25,25-15,25-22 and 15-6.

Paloma Valley advances to face first seeded Ontario Christian. The Wildcats are looking to avenge last week’s loss in the CIF Southern Section Championship game. The Knights are 36-2 and have won 18 games in a row.

Linfield Christian fell to San Dimas in round 2 of the CIF State Championships. The Lions finish with a record of 30-5 overall and a CIF-SS Division 7 Championship. 2018 was the most successful volleyball season in Linfield history.
