Lynton will Remain as the Head Coach of the Boys Water Polo Team
Murrieta Valley Girls Water Polo Coach Bryan Lynton stepped down today as he resigned as the team’s Head Coach. Lynton will continue to serve as coach the Nighthawk Boys team. Athletic Director Darin Mott and Principal Eric Mooney are currently working on filling the position.
The Murrieta Valley coach is a legend in Southern California Prep Water Polo. He has been voted the CIF Coach of the Year 4 times and his Girls Team has won 4 CIF Southern Section Divisional Championships, The Nighthawks won 9 Southwestern League Championships
“This has been in my thoughts for quite a while now, and probably would have done this a few years ago if my daughter wasn’t coming through the program” wrote Lynton in an announcement. “I am very proud of the things we have been able to do with the program. My heartfelt thanks the many coaches that have helped me along the way since 1998”.
The Nighthawk Boys team is currently ranked 4th in Division 2 in the latest CIF Southern Section Polls. Lynton’s Boys teams have won 13 consecutive Southwestern League Championships and won the CIF SS Division 2 Title last year.
“One of the best things I will take away from this job is the relationships that I have developed with my former players. You are part of the family to myself, Adelle, Eric, Casey and Delayne’ added Lynton. “Thank you for keeping in touch and thank you most of all for being good human beings… for believing in the program and always giving me your best. I will always cherish you women and thank you for being part of the family”.
The Nighthawk Boys, who have not played at home since the season opener ,will travel to face Santa Margarita in a non-conference game next Tuesday. It’s great to still have Coach Lynton sitting in his chair at the edge of the pool in the Nighthawk Water Polo program.
