HS Water Polo: Murrieta Valley Cruises Past Great Oak 20-8 in Round One of the Southwestern League Carousel

The Nighthawks had Eleven Players Score Goals against the Wolfpack

Murrieta Valley scored five goals in each period as 11 Nighthawks scored goals to beat Great Oak 20-8 in Round One of the Southwestern league Carousel Tournament. Murrieta Valley remained unbeaten in league play and s focused on getting ready for the CIF Southern Section Division 2 Championship Playoffs under rookie Head Coach Jason Shumway,



The Nighthawks shut out the Wolfpack for the first two periods and took a 10-0 lead at the half. Great Oak finally got on the board in the third period, scoring twice. The Wolfpack would put six more goals in the net in the final period to make it a 20-8 final.

Christina Reyes led Murrieta Valley with 4 goals. Megan Falcon was next with 3 and Taylor Hensly ,Isabelle Ritter, Randi Reinhardt and Katie Hollaman scored 2 goals each. Five other Nighthawks, Morgan Jones.Sydney Sein, Sierra Pittman, Maryn Dempsey and Sianne Hazel put one goal apiece in the net for Murrieta.

Leah Towery was the scoring leader for the Pack with 3 goals. Emma Johns added 2 more and Alexis Guyer, Megan Barnett and Casandra Young scored one each against a ruthless Nufthawk defense.





The Second Round of the SWL Carousel is on Tuesday, January 31st at Vista Murrieta. Murrieta Valley will play Chaparral and Great Oak has a Bye.
