HS Water Polo: Murrieta Valley Crushes Chaparral 14-6

Senior Christina Reyes Scores 8 Goals to Lead the Nighthawks Past the Pumas

Christina Reyes scored 4 of her 8 goals in the first period has the senior ignited the Nighthawk offense past Chaparral. Murrieta Valley cruised to their second consecutive victory in the Southwestern league Carousel tournament at Murrieta Mesa Tuesday.

Murrieta scored 5 goals in the opening period and another 6 in the second to make it 11-5 at the half. The Nighthawk defense only allowed one more goal in the second half as the Nighthawks cruised to a 14-6 victory.

Reyes carried the Hawks offense with 8 goals. Megan Falcon scored twice for Murrieta Valley and Taylor Hensley, Sierra Pittman, Maryn Dempsey and Randi Reinhardt put one goal into the net apiece.

Chaparral’s Jessica Zona led the Pumas in scoring with 3 goals. Natalie Nichols, Mahlia Medina and Amity Schlachter scored a goal each against MV.


Round three of the Southwestern league Girls Water Polo Carousel continues tomorrow in the pool at Murrieta Mesa. Chaparral will face Great Oak while the Rams takes on the Golden Bears.
