HS Water Polo: Murrieta Valley Sinks Temecula Valley 21-1

The Nighthawks Score 9 Points in the First Period and Never Look Back

The Murrieta Valley Girl’s Water Polo team got back on track Tuesday as the Nighthawks crushed Temecula Valley 21-1 in Southwestern League action.

Murrieta wasted no time, scoring 9 goals in the first period against the Golden Bears. The Nighthawks went on to score 4 goals in each of the next 3 periods to win it 21-4.

The Golden Bears are 8-12 this season and 0-2 in league play. Murrieta Valley is now 8-4 overall with new coach Jason Shumway. The Nighthawks are 2-0 in the Southwestern league and looking to repeat once again as Champions.

Four Nighthawks scored four goals apiece against the Golden Bears. They were Maryn Dempsey, Katelynn Hollorman, Sydney Stein and Christina Reyes.

Morgan Jones, Brooke Pittman, Megan Falcon, Sianne Hazel and Sierra Pittman each put a goal into the net for Murrieta Valley.

The Nighthawks will travel to Great Oak to take on the Wolfpack Thursday. Temecula Valley be home to face Vista Murrieta. The Broncos beat Chaparral 17-7 yesterday.
