HS Water Polo: Vista Murrieta & Murrrieta Mesa Victorious over Temecula Valley & Chaparral

The Broncos & Rams are Both 3-1 & a Game Behind Murrieta Valley in the Southwestern League Standings


Vista Murrieta wasted no time establishing their dominance Thursday as the Broncos jumped out to a huge 7-0 lead in the first period. They would ouscore the Golen Bears 3-2 in the second and 3-1 in the third. Temecula Valley won the final period 2-1 as the game ended 14-4.

Katey Peterson led the Broncos with 5 goals. Isabell Rack put 4 balls into the net and Amira Van Buren 3 more. Kalee Morgan and Hannah Steffens each scored a goal for Vista. Jacelyn Geddes had 4 saves in the game.


Murrieta Mesa’s Kate Fox led the Rams past the Pumas in a hard fought 7-6 victory yesterday. Her dramatic,game winning goal came with just 9 seconds left on the clock in regulation. Fox scored six of the seven Murrieta Mesa Goals. Taylor Tait was tough in the net and had 6 saves for the Rams.

The Pumas were led by Jessica Zona who scored 3 goals. Mahlia Medina put 2 more in the net for Chaparral. Goalie Jasmine Uhler had 7 saves in the loss.

The win is the third Southwestern league victory for Mesa against one loss. All six Southwestern League teams will play in the SWL Carousel on Thursday to determine who will be crowned league Champion.
