The Broncos cruised to the Championship game with victories over Westridge 13-8 and Oxnard. Vista Murrieta ranked Number 6 in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 polls then faced Schurr. The Spartans were ranked 5th in the polls.

Vista Murrieta dominated the first half as the Broncos broke away with a 9-6 lead. The Broncos fell into a slumber in the second half and Schurr came roaring back scoring three quick goals to get back into the game.

Vista Murrieta was stunned but fought on. Trailing by 1 with a second left to play, Murrieta’s Amira Van Buren was fouled and had the opportunity to tie it all up.
