The Golden Bears are Focused on Winning their 28th Consecutive Southwestern League Title
Temecula Valley set new a California State record last season when the Golden Bears won the Southwestern League Title for an unprecedented 27th straight year. Temecula Valley has been one of the most dominant High School Wrestling Programs in the Inland Empire since Coaches Arnold Alpert and Lyndon Campell set new standards for the sport at the school.
The Golden Bears owns 18 CIF SS Titles and has won the Masters three times. Temecula Valley has finished in the top ten in the state six times since Alpert and Campbell took over. The 2017 Pre-Season Polls has the Bears ranked Fourth in the Eastern Division.
Temescal Canyon is ranked two spots behind Temecula in the number six spot. The Titans are the defending Sunbelt league Champions. The Titans also won the crown in 2014 and Coach Kylle Little is focused on winning back-to-back titles this year.
Vista Murrieta comes in unranked again in the Pre-Season Polls. The Broncos had hopes of dethroning Temecula last season, but it was not to be. The question in the Southwestern League this season is whether Vista Murrieta Coach Jeremy Jarrett can continue to develop the Wrestling Program and give the Golden Bears another tough, competitive season. The Broncos finished the 2015 season ranked sixth in the Division.
