Lake Elsinore: Duo Arrested Attempting to Steal a Utility Trailer from a Business

On Friday, June 22, at 12:54 AM, Lake Elsinore Police officers responded to a report of two subjects attempting to steal a utility trailer from a business. The location is a business in the 500 Block of Crane Street that was currently closed.

The business owner saw subjects via surveillance cameras at the location. Multiple Lake Elsinore Police, Riverside County Sheriff’s units, and the Riverside County Sheriff’s helicopter, arrived on scene within two minutes and established a perimeter around the business.

The two subjects, later identified as David Cason, 32 years-old from Menifee and John Andrade, 33 years-old from Yorba Linda, had successfully defeated locks and attached the trailer to their truck. The subjects attempted to leave and as they rounded a corner, realized patrol units were parked in the driveway and they could not exit.

The driver attempted to backup and subsequently jack-knifed the trailer. Officers and deputies converged on the suspect vehicle and took both subjects into custody without incident. Cason and Andrade were subsequently booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center and the trailer was returned to the victim.

Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to call Officer Marston at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station by calling (951) 245-3320.
