Lake Elsinore: Mission Viejo Woman Arrested after Running Away from Police following Traffic Stop

On Wednesday, June 12, Lake Elsinore Sheriff Deputies arrested a Mission Viejo woman for trying to evade them after a traffic stop. The Deputies observed a vehicle driving erratically on Central Avenue. A traffic enforcement stop for vehicle code violations was initiated.

The vehicle made an abrupt stop on the shoulder of Interstate 15. The driver exited the vehicle and began running through a ravine, and over a fence into the nearby Warm Springs Community. A perimeter was established and with the help of an alert resident, the driver was apprehended without incident.

The driver, Carib Bennett, 43 years of age and a resident of Mission Viejo, was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant out of Orange County for Post Release Supervision (PRCS) violation.

This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with further information is asked to contact Deputy Beaudet at (951) 245-3300.
