Lake Elsinore: The Storm’s T.J. Weir named Cal League Pitcher of the Week



Career Outing on May 27 Highlights Righty’s Impressive Resume

The California League has named Storm pitcher T.J. Weir as its Pitcher of the Week, the first Storm player to win such an honor this season.

Weir’s line for the week: 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 1 GS, 8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HBP, 1 BB, 12 K

The Kokomo, Indiana native had a career outing in a spot start against the Stockton Ports on Friday, May 27. He blanked the Oakland A’s affiliate over seven innings of work, striking out a team-high 12 batters in the process.

Weir is 3-2 with a 1.45 ERA in 15 games this season, including three as a starter. He has struck out 40 and walked ten in 31 innings.
