Lake Elsinore: Traffic Stop for Stolen Vehicle also Leads to Drug Arrest

On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, about 2:30 P.M., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, Problem Oriented Policing Team, recognized a Ford F250 truck as a vehicle used in a previous crime. Deputies were able to determine this vehicle was also reported as stolen out of the city of Riverside.

Deputies initiated a traffic enforcement stop on the above vehicle. They contacted the driver of the vehicle, Jose Daniel Franco, a 35-year-old, Hispanic male adult, who is a resident of the city of Lake Elsinore.

The suspect, Jose Daniel Franco was subsequently arrested for possession of stolen property. While searching Jose Daniel Franco incident to arrest, deputies located 28 grams of a white crystalline type substance (methamphetamine) on his person. Jose Daniel Franco was transported and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
