Menifee: Popular, Well Respected Basketball Coach Shot & Killed Outside His Home Saturday Night

Coach Claudell was the Co-Founder of DTermined Athletics which Helps to Aspiring Young Athletes

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the murder of a basketball coach who was well respected and beloved in the community. Coach Claudell Walter was fatally shot in front of his home Saturday night in Menifee.

Sheriffs Deputies responded to a shooting call in the 29000 block of Light Sails Court shortly just before 10 pm on Saturday and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the driveway. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Claudell was coming home from working with the kids on his team, when a gunman ran up and shot him before he got out of his car.

Coach Claudell was described as a passionate basketball coach and a father of two. He is being remembered for his work with children and basketball. He was the co-founder of DTermined Athletics in Corona, which helps to coach aspiring young athletes.
