Menifee: Young Girl Chasing a Ball Suffers Major injuries after Car Accident


The 8-Year-old was Transported to a Local Hospital

On Tuesday, December 19th, 2017, at 3:20 p.m., deputies from the Menifee Police Department responded to the area of Stillwater Drive and Halcyon Drive, in the city of Menifee, regarding a major injury traffic collision.

Deputies arrived on scene within minutes, along with personnel from Cal Fire, and discovered an 8-year-old female juvenile collided with a vehicle. Immediately following the collision, the driver rendered aid to the juvenile until first responders arrived.

The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. Stillwater Drive was shut down for two hours while officers conducted the investigation.

At this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was driving west on Stillwater Drive when the juvenile ran into the street while chasing a ball and struck the side of the passing vehicle. The driver was not found to have violated any moving violations prior to the collision.
