Murrieta: A 130 Foot Geyser Erupts after a Fire Hydrant is Struck by a Unfortunate Motorist Thursday

“Old Faithful” Visits Murrieta Today

What happens when a vehicle accidentally hits a fire hydrant? An 130 foot geyser, that’s what. A person driving their car ran into a fire hydrant in Murrieta Thursday afternoon. It was as if Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park went off here in Murrieta.

The stream of water shot approximately 130 feet into the air between the Shell Gas Station and Burger King off Cal Oaks and Cal Oaks Plaza.

Thankfully, the water was shut off quickly and traffic was back to normal.
