Murrieta: Project 99’s Second Annual “Lights for Life” 5k Run Takes Place on December 9th

The Event is Dedicated to Raising Awareness for Preventing Suicide across the Nation

Project 99 is back for its 2nd Annual “Lights for Life” 5k run to bring awareness to suicide prevention. The race will take place on December 9th, 2017 from 6:30 am – 10:30 am.

They will have free suicide prevention resources, food vendors, live performances by Colin Acda, and a live DJ. It’s going to be a fun city event and Project 99 is hoping to get at least 200 participants.

Project 99 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness to and preventing suicide across the nation. Founded in honor of Diego Villarreal, a 16 year old student athlete at Murrieta Valley High School.

Villarreal passed away in August of 2015 as a result of a suicide. Project 99 provides students at local high schools and middle schools with informational suicide awareness talks and prevention campaigns. Project 99 has encouraged large numbers of students across the state to speak up and has helped many to realize that they matter.
