Murrieta: Three Suspects Arrested With Narcotics, Stolen Mail & Fraudulent Checks

On 11/7/17 at approximately 3:17 a.m. a Murrieta Police Officer was conducting extra patrol in the area of Morning Dove Lane and California Oaks Road when she observed a suspicious vehicle parked next to the community mail boxes on Wild Canary Lane. The vehicle was found to be occupied by three subjects and the officer immediately observed mail strewn throughout the vehicle. The occupants were identified as Kalice Magee, Eric Robarge and Asaad Shakir. A records check was conducted on each.

The records check revealed that Ms. Magee was on probation for driving under the influence and had prior arrests for narcotics and weapons related charges. Mr. Robarge was found to be on probation for vandalism and had prior convictions for driving under the influence and narcotics related charges.

Mr. Shakir was also found to be on probation for narcotics and had convictions for narcotics, burglary and vandalism. Inside the vehicle, officers located mail belonging to at least 19 different victims as well as numerous checks that had been altered.

Ms. Magee, Mr. Robarge and Mr. Shakir were placed under arrest for the stolen mail and fraudulent checks. During a search of the vehicle subsequent to the arrests, officers also located numerous needles, narcotics pipes and a substance later confirmed to be heroin.

A search of Ms. Magee’s purse revealed a realistic imitation firearm, which was missing the orange safety tip and a knife with metal knuckles attached to the handle. Ms. Magee, Mr. Robarge and Mr. Shakir were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center without incident. Officers are currently working to return the stolen property to the rightful owners.
