Murrieta: Two Arrested For Possession of Drugs For Sale at the Colony


On 12/24/16 at approximately 11:40 p.m. a Murrieta Police Officer was conducting extra patrol in the senior community of the Colony. The officer was flagged down by a security guard who expressed concern regarding recent burglaries in the community. During his check of the area, the officer located an occupied vehicle in the 40500 block of Via Malagas.

The officer contacted a male and female inside the vehicle. A records check of the male, identified as Ronald Waggoner, revealed that he had an extensive criminal history dating back 32 years. Mr. Waggoner had previous convictions for burglary, narcotics, possession of a stolen vehicle, robbery and weapons. Mr. Waggoner was also found to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for the possession of stolen property. The officer conducted a probation check on his vehicle subsequent to the terms of Mr. Waggoner’s PRCS probation. Inside the vehicle, the officer located a large amount of methamphetamine, a digital scale, packaging and methamphetamine pipes.

While the officers were searching Mr. Waggoner’s vehicle, a second vehicle arrived at a nearby home. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Robert Grant, an associate of Mr. Waggoner and his passenger. A records check of Mr. Grant revealed that he was also on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for driving under the influence and on probation for hit and run. Mr. Grant also had a lengthy criminal history and convictions for narcotics, possession of a stolen vehicle and burglary.

The officers conducted a probation search of Mr. Grant’s residence on Via Malagas per the terms of his PRCS probation. During the search, officers located methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

Mr. Waggoner was placed under arrest for the possession and sales of the narcotics. Mr. Grant was placed under arrest for the possession of the narcotics. Both subjects were booked into the Southwest Detention Center.

The female passenger was released at the scene.
