A Thompson Middles School Robotics Team Qualifies for the State Championship Tournament

Murrieta Valley High and Thompson Middle School traveled to San Diego last weekend to compete in the VEX Robotics Tournament held at Castle Pak High School. The Nighthawks and Timber Wolves combined to dominate the event. With 34 teams competing, out of 6 teams in the Finals, the two schools were on 5 of them.

Murrieta Valley’s Team 569C and the two Thompson robots outplayed the Nighthawk’s 569B and 569Ateams to win the tournament in 3 match sweep in the best of 3 format.

While we were all ecstatic that Murrieta teams won the tournament, this was Team 569B’s final chance to qualify for the State Championship and they needed to win to get in” said Murrieta Robotics Club Advisor Kevin Bradley. “They put forth an amazing effort but fell one match short. Even our very own Team 569C felt bad about beating them…but were happy to be part of the alliance that helped a Thompson team get into their Middle School State Championship”.

The Thompson Middle School is hosting a VEX Tournament today beginning at 9 am.
