Norco: Armed Robbery Suspect from Corona Apprehended at Traffic Stop

On Monday, October 07, 2019, at 3:28 A.M., deputies from the Sheriff’s Department responded to an initial call of an armed robbery at the 2600 block of Hamner Avenue.

The perpetrator brandished a handgun at the store clerk and demanded the cash register money. He fled the scene on foot with the evening’ sales.

Norco Sheriff’s Deputies along with the Norco Special Enforcement Team continued the investigation and developed information on the perpetrator. A traffic enforcement stop was conducted on a black Nissan Maxima with expired registration tabs in the City of Corona. The driver, along with three other occupants were detained for investigation.

The driver of the vehicle, a 38 years old, white male adult, and resident of the City of Corona, identified as Dwayne Wardell Haw Jr., was identified as the perpetrator of the robbery. Evidence of the crime was located inside the black Nissan Maxima.

The three passengers of the vehicle were released at the scene pending further investigation. Dwayne Wardell Haw Jr., was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for robbery and is being held on $30,000 bail.
