Norco: Identity & Mail Theft Ring Busted

During the last several months, numerous residents in the cities of Norco and Eastvale have been the victims of mail theft, both from mailboxes and parcels left on their porch, resulting in a monetary loss and incidents of identity theft. Deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team from the cities of Norco and Eastvale collaborated with federal agents from the United States Postal Inspector Service in an extensive investigation, resulting in the identification of several suspects.14604874_10205922262133983_5510489903736311198_n

The suspects, all residents of Corona, were identified as Christopher Hyman (age 50), Cerrise Sturgeon (age 38), Michael Lankford (age 29) and Kayla Morrison (age 23).

On Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team from the cities of Norco and Eastvale, investigators assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station and federal agents from the United States Postal Inspector Service, served a search warrant related to this ongoing investigation at a residence located in the 800 Block of Rock Ridge Ct., Corona.

During this ongoing investigation and service of the search warrant, deputies located numerous pieces of mail, personal checks, payroll checks and identification cards stolen from the cities of Norco, Eastvale, Corona and Lake Elsinore. In addition to the stolen property, deputies located numerous pieces of equipment and tools used in the commission of identity and mail theft.

14717258_1087557901362955_6841954487436608434_n-1Hyman, Sturgeon, Lankford and Morrison were all located at the residence during the service of the search warrant and were arrested without incident. They were later booked into jail at the Robert Presley Detention Center for numerous theft related crimes including theft of mail, possession of stolen property, fictitious checks, forgery and burglary tools.
