Perris: Suspect Arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs in Fatal Accident in May

On Sunday, 04/10/16, at 8:58 PM, officers from the Perris Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle versus motorcycle traffic collision on Navajo Rd. in the city of Perris. A gray Honda Civic traveling northbound on Navajo Rd., crossed the center median and collided head on with a motorcycle traveling southbound.  The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Upon further investigation by the Perris Traffic Reconstruction Unit and review by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined that Ramiro Israel Alvarado, 19 years of Hemet, was driving while under the influence of drugs at the time of this fatal traffic collision.

Ramiro had a prior DUI conviction and had been driving while unlicensed. Ramiro was taken into custody at the Perris Sheriff’s Station and booked on a murder charge at the Southwest Detention Facility on 9/21.
