Perris: Three Arrested & Thirty-four Traffic Citations Issued During a Street Racing Traffic Safety Operation

On Saturday, June 9, 2018, Perris Police Officers conducted zero tolerance enforcement activities in an effort to combat illegal street racing, reckless driving and other related traffic offenses. A marked increase in street racing related activity has been noted at several locations throughout the city in recent weeks, jeopardizing the public as well as participants themselves.

During the enforcement operation, more than forty enforcement stops and vehicle inspections were conducted at various locations throughout the city.

One felony arrest and two misdemeanor arrests were made. Thirty-four traffic citations were issued for equipment related violations and other vehicle code violations. Three vehicles were towed due to various vehicle code violations.

Brent Shelton, 27 years, a resident of San Bernardino, was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for outstanding warrants. Beatriz Ceballos Rivera, 50 years, a resident of Perris, was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for driving under the influence.

In an effort to keep the community safe, the Perris Police Department will continue operations targeting street racing activities and reckless driving.
