Perris: Traffic Collision at Evans and Orange leads to DUI Arrest

On Thursday, 6/15/17, at 6:46 PM, officers from the Perris Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision, involving two vehicles, at the intersection of Evans and Orange, in the city of Perris.

The investigation showed one of the drivers, Oluwatunbo Afuwape of Menifee, was unsafely driving a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and marijuana, when he rear-ended another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured. Mr. Afuwape was evaluated at a local hospital prior to being booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

Officers determined the proximate cause of the traffic collision was due to Mr. Afuwape’s impairment. No road closures were necessary during this investigation. The city of Perris would like to remind people in this community not to drink and drive, and driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
