Perris: Trio with a Stolen, Loaded Handgun Arrested on Felony Gun and Misdemeanor Drug Charges


On Friday, January 11, 2019, about 1:15 PM, Perris Special Enforcement Team Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop near the intersection of N. Perris Boulevard & Orangetree Drive in the city of Perris.

The driver, Andrew Escalante (21-year-old of Perris), and passengers, Sara Silvas (26-year-old of Perris) and Luis Perez (23-year-old of Perris), were detained and a search of the car occurred. The vehicle search resulted in the location and seizure of a loaded, stolen .380 caliber Walther handgun and drug paraphernalia.

Escalante and Silvas were arrested and later booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for felony gun charges. Perez was also booked for misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession.
